The Frigidaire dehumidifier 70 pint or the model FDF70S1 is an efficient dehumidifier and has Energy Star Compliant rating to show for its efficiency. This 70-pint per day Frigidaire dehumidifier is capable of continuous operation all day long. It also features a water drainage system so that the machine can empty itself through a hose when unit is located near a drain.

Frigidaire dehumidifier 70 pint also has full-function electronic controls. The storage bin collects water with its very own level indicator. It also has a washable filter, which removes moisture as well as airborne particulates. To move the unit easily to wherever needed, there are integrated casters attached to the machine for mobility.

Here is one testimonial for the Frigidaire 70 pint dehumidifier:

“I purchased the Frigidaire 70 pint dehumidifier last May 2, 2009. My purpose for buying is to replace the old dehumidifier I had that already became too old and not quite functioning well. The old dehumidifier is a Kenmore brand and it had worked well for many years we had it. However, it had become less energy efficient and also less effective.

I ordered the Frigidaire dehumidifier 70 pint because it has all the features I needed. Unfortunately, the unit arrived with the basket broken in two different places on the top. I did not know it was broken until I emptied the basket but it was my fault that I had not checked that all was well with the dehumidifier model that arrived by my doorstep.

I have used it every single day. Other than the broken pieces, it worked perfectly fine. The broken pieces, by the way, are still lying on my clothes dryer. I hated paying too much for an appliance which arrived broken but because I used it before noticing that there is a broken part, I was not sure whether I could return it or not.

The noise level is not noticeable at all. Since I put it in my basement, I can never hear it upstairs. When we have heavy rains, I notice worms inside the basement door. With the Frigidaire 70 pint dehumidifier, I observed that there are no more worms now. The humidity has indeed been removed. My basement is now dry like when I had my old Kenmore dehumidifier. This Frigidaire dehumidifier is truly recommended. One thing, though, just make sure everything is okay when you open the box.”

Frigidaire might be well known for its quality refrigerators but it is also making quality appliances like dehumidifiers. In this post, we will feature the best selling Frigidaire Dehumidifier Model FDL50S1.

This heavy duty dehumidifier works hard to help minimize moisture in one’s basement. Among its best features is the fact that the moisture from the air turned into water can be collected through a storage bin. The water can then be directed to a household drain. The water storage bin can also catch the water from the leaks.

The Frigidaire dehumidifier fdl50s1 is easy to empty out. Thus, it offers good portability. Check out this positive customer review on this dehumidifier model:

“We purchased the Frigidaire FDL50S1 Dehumidifier due to one emergency situation. Because we are from Chicago, we had recent rains that had caused our basement to get flooded due to the massive amounts of water from the rain.

In a matter of two days, there was a lot of rain that our sump pump was continuously running for 5 consecutive days after the rain! Two days after the rain, the basement began to take on an awful, moldy, damp smell. I then immediately searched online for some solutions and I stumbled on the 50-pint dehumidifier in Lowe’s and bought it right away.

The FDL50S1 Dehumidifier sucks water out of the air at a fast rate and I found myself changing the storage bin about 2 to 3 times every day. Thus, I bought a washing machine hose and attached it to the drainage port. The hose is 3 feet long and has a rubber end that fits snugly over the port. The basement was already dry after 4 days. I now maintain the humidity level in the basement with the dehumidifier.” (This review is form Melissa of Chicago)

On the other hand, here is a negative review on the Frigidaire dehumidifier fdl50s1:

“This dehumidifier was bought out of an emergency situation because our electricity went out for 2 days. Hence, the sump pump stopped working and we got water throughout the basement. Our LG Dehumidifier was knocked out so we need to replace it with a new one.

We went to Lowes and found this Frigidaire fdl50s1. We are not really happy with it. Its water tank is so difficult to pull out to empty. Contrary to their claim that it is quiet, the unit is actually loud. I can even hear it upstairs. Without a doubt, it does work okay but the noise is such a frustration.”(Anonymous from Seattle)

It features precise electronic controls with a sensor. You have the option to empty the reservoir periodically or use the continuous drain for convenience.

The dehumidifier model has a humidity sensor and can run continuously. It can also be set to adjust the indoor humidity to be within the range 35% to 85%. Its bucket in the bottom has a big capacity to hold water. To help you carry the bucket, it has a handle so that you can empty when it is about to be completely fill up.
Frigidaire Dehumidifier 50 Pint Customer Review

“In the winter months, I have Frigidaire Dehumidifier 50 pint running in the house. They work fantastically and they pull moisture out of the air significantly.

This model is great for people who live by the ocean. I really do not want to get molds on my walls due to humidity and moisture during the winter season. Furthermore, this model is energy efficient which is an excellent bonus, particularly when they need to run all day.

Another great feature is that you can set it automatically to run continuously. You can also set it to run with a certain range of humidity level. The only problem is that it can loud sometimes. I prefer not to sleep right next to it. I choose to put them in the next rooms and it still covers the entire house. “

Frigidaire has been a reliable brand in the appliance industry for a long time now. The brand offers a wide selection of laundry appliances, air conditioners, kitchen appliances, and dehumidifiers. In this post, we will reveal a few insiders’ information with the Frigidaire dehumidifier review.

Dehumidifiers are excellent for warm weathers. These appliances keep the air humidity low, thus keeping our skin smooth. With warm weather like during the summer, just imagine how uncomfortable outdoors with the heat and how unbearable inside due to the humidity. This is how a dehumidifier provides a solution by helping keep the air less humid to avoid dry and itchy skin when inside.

The dehumidifier line from the Frigidaire brand is one of the best in the industry, backed by the well-known Energy Star Rating. This distinction means you have an efficient dehumidifier that can make you save money on energy costs. The Energy Star Rating means you choose appliances consuming less energy and are also friendly to the environment.

As an example, the Frigidaire Dehumidifier model FDL50S1 or the Frigidaire 50 pint works on a standard 115-volt electrical supply. This appliance unit consumes 420 watts on cool setting while zero for heating settings. It has a 0.56 horsepower motor with a 6-foot power cord with a NEMA 5-15P.

Frigidaire Dehumidifier – The Benefits

The Frigidaire dehumidifier is perfect when there are family members with breathing problems like asthma. Problems with breathing are so prevalent during the summer time. It is likewise perfect for those people who are prone to having dry skin.

The Frigidaire Dehumidifier is also quiet. When running on its high setting, it has a noise of 50.2 decibels. It has an antibacterial mesh filter. This filter slides out on the bottom of the appliance for convenient cleaning.

This dehumidifier has an adjustable humidistat. The minimum operating temperature of the dehumidifier is 41 degrees Fahrenheit. This model unit also comes with drain connection with side discharge and hoses. Finally, the unit is backed with guaranteed one year warranty for your peace of mind.

In closing, the Frigidaire Dehumidifier is one of the best selling appliances in the Frigidaire brand. If you have problems staying inside and can’t withstand the humid and uncomfortable experience inside your house or condo, then this high-performance dehumidifier can significantly reduce the humidity of the indoor air. The line is also compact in dimension so you can use them even when you do not have enough space like when you are living in a condo.

On this site we talk about all the different types of dehumidifiers. But what about if your entire house is affected by moisture and humidity? Should you buy 4 or 5 different portable styles and place them in your house? Well we think that you would probably be a great candidate for one of the outstanding whole house dehumidifiers that are currently on the market.

So you are probably asking yourself, what is the difference? Well a whole house dehumidifier acts just like you central heating or air conditioning unit. It comes with a centralized control unit where you can adjust the settings. Now keep in mind that this is a very large investment for your home but if you live in a high humidity part of the country, it might not be a bad idea to buy one and have it installed professionally.

So the next question people usually asks is, how much will it cost? Well depending on model and style, you could spend anywhere between $1500 to $4500 dollars. Don’t skimp on price though. Make sure you get a model that is large enough to do the job. Also, make sure that you get one that comes with a good warranty period. For the money you are spending, you don’t want to have to worry about it breaking down and then you being stuck with repairing it. So when shopping for whole house dehumidifiers, just make sure you look at each and every product specifications and buy accordingly. If you have questions, make sure you contact the seller and don’t be afraid to ask.

You are also probably asking yourself, why do you need to be looking at whole house dehumidifiers? Well you should ask yourself these questions:

·Do you have trouble sleeping at night because it is so humid in your home?
·Are you always adjusting the central air settings because of humidity?
·Do your floors become wet on their own
·Have you started to notice mildew I your bathrooms?
·Do you have musty smells in any part of your house?
·Is there always condensation outside on your water pipes?
·Have you noticed any stains on walls or ceilings that come through the drywall?

If you have answered yes to most of these questions then it is probably a good idea and spend the money on one of the outstanding whole house dehumidifiers that are on the market. You and your family won’t regret it.

Dehumidifier for Basement Mold & Mildew
Do you have a lot of moisture in your cellar? Well your best bet to buy a dehumidifier for basement mold prevention. While most mold and mildew are harmless, you can actually get sick from it. Also, if you have young children, elderly or a pregnant woman, it could really affect them.

So what type of dehumidifier should you get? There are a lot of different styles of dehumidifiers out there as well as many notable brands as well. The first thing is size. You really need to get one that is big enough for the size room you are looking to treat. With that being said, the larger you go, the more expensive the dehumidifier will be, so don’t over purchase either. Just make sure that you look at each models specification and plan accordingly.

What else should you look for when you are buying a dehumidifier for basement moisture? Well one other thing is, do you have a sink or not. If you do, then go ahead and spend a few extra dollars and buy one that comes with a tube. How this works is, as the dehumidifier sucks the moisture from the air, it will automatically deposit it through the hose and out into your sink. That way, you don’t have to worry about emptying a bucket every other day or so. Now if you don’t have a sink, then make sure you buy a dehumidifier that comes with an automatic shutoff once the bucket is full. You don’t want the dehumidifier to continue to run after the water bucket is full. Just think of all of the flooding that will cause. The name of the game is to get a dehumidifier for basement moisture removal, having an overflowing dehumidifier will only cause the problem to get worse.

Make sure you also take noise into a consideration. While a lot of people don’t use their basement for much more then storage and possibly a laundry room, others actually have a finished basement. For those who enjoy using their basement, nothing will aggravate you more than a large machine running all the time. Just think about it. All of your friends are over to watch the big game on a Sunday afternoon and all they can hear is a dehumidifier running. Don’t fret though, you can buy a dehumidifier for basement mold that runs quietly and smoothly. Just checkout some of the review sites that are out there.

In a nutshell, just make sure that you do your homework. There are a lot of dehumidifier review site out there. Just be sure that you are looking at a reliable source as there are many fraudulent ones out there on the internet. So look around and buy the right dehumidifier for basement mildew that you can afford.

Crawl Space Dehumidifier
If you happen to live in a humid part of the United States, then you are very familiar with how damp and wet certain parts of your home gets. The basement is one obvious location but if your house has a crawl space, then it might be time to but a crawl space dehumidifier.

So are probably asking yourself, “What the heck is a crawl space dehumidifier?” Well that is a very good question. As you can tell by any google search, there are thousands of different types of dehumidifiers on the market. Well there are some that are specialized to work in different parts of your home. Your crawl space is no different.

Think about your crawl space for a second. Mine is actually located underneath our stairs so space is very limited. Also, since it is an enclosed area, the moisture is probably the most intense then any other portion of your home. Well a crawl space dehumidifier is designed just for this. It s sized to fit most areas. It is also more powerful then your normal dehumidifiers. If you think about it, it really needs to be. As stated earlier, the crawl space is more then likely the most humid part of your house so you really need the extra power that this dehumidifier gives out.

It is important to get rid of the humidity in your crawl space. The biggest reason is the damage that it can cause your foundation. One of concretes worst enemy is moisture. Of time, it will rot away, causing a lot of damage. Another reason is that humidity is just a breeding ground for dust mites and other diseases baring insects. Just think of what could be growing in crawl space.

If you are like me, you probably use your crawl space as a storage area as well. If the moisture continues to go untreated, then much of your personal belongings will be ruined. I actually learned this the hard way when most of my childhood baseball card collection was ruined by the wetness of our crawl space. Just think what it will do to books and even pictures if you are storing them down there. Not a pretty sight.

So make sure you don’t skimp on price a get a crawl space dehumidifier. While some of the cheaper models will be tempting, you will more then likely be disappointed. So spend the few extra dollars, get a machine that fits your area and make sure it is powerful enough. If you do, your crawl space dehumidifier will last for a very long time as well as do the job that you need it to.

Basement Dehumidifier
If you live in a humid part of the United States, you will probably need a basement dehumidifier to help get rid of the relative humidity in your cellar. There are many different humidifiers that are on the market but you should really look into one that is manufactured just for you basement.

What’s the Difference?
Since humidity tents to build up in your basement, you really need to get a more powerful machine. While cheaper, your household humidifiers probably won’t have the power to completely get rid of that nasty sticky feeling. If you are like me, you might even have a finished basement. If that is the case, spend a few extra bucks and get a specialized basement dehumidifier. It will make your time in the finished basement more enjoyable and comfortable.

So what does it do?
A basement dehumidifier basically just sucks up the moisture in the air. Once it does that, it will deposit the water in a removal bucket in the back of your machine. Some basement dehumidifiers will even have a hose that you can run from the machine to a sink, thus never having to empty the bucket or worry about overflowing as well.

Many of the newer models are also energy efficient. Just shop around and look for the most energy efficient model if you are concerned about running up your electric bill. Depending on where you live, you can probably turn it off during the winter months.

You also need to ensure that you place the basement dehumidifier in the best location. If you are like me, that would be where you washer and dryer are located. Just think of the heat that your dryer puts out. That, in combination with the natural humidity, makes for an uncomfortable area. If your model has a hose, then obviously you must put it near the basement sink.

What should I get?
Just do a google search. You will find many great companies that put out quality basement dehumidifiers. Companies like SaniDry Dehumidfiers, Frigidaire Dehumidifiers, Santa Fe Dehumidifiers, and Aprilaire Dehumidifiers are just a few that make quality basement dehumidifiers.
